Christmas shows, trees, and Ugly Sweaters (12/6-12/7/2014)

I'm not even going to apologize for my lack of posts.. Honestly, nothing has really happened in our lives and anything that has, I feel like it has been such a blur that I haven't even remembered enough of it to write it down.

And I am still behind because this post is from 2 weeks ago hahahaha

This past weekend, however, was fun and I even have some photos to share!!

Saturday the 6th, we were supposed to all get up early (minus Damian, who had to work) and meet up with Mama, PopUp, and Uncle Chuck to go pick out the tree for Mama and PopUps house.  Unfortunately, Mother Nature, didn't care too much about our plans and it was raining and gross out, so we had to postpone for Sunday.

Saturday night Madison was performing with her dance school for the Annual East Hartford Holiday Fest.  Now, I am going to sound horrible, but I dread this event EVERY YEAR!  Now, don't get me wrong-- I LOVE watching Madison dance, but since this event is a competitive one and involves other dance schools, I find myself getting antsy about halfway through.  And the fact that it is supposed to be 2 hours and always ends up lasting closer to 2 and half to 3 hours doesn't help much.  I did however learn that I may actually want to take up Irish Step Dancing in the near future.

Madison danced in 6 numbers, 1 being a solo piece that her and Christine have been working on, called Anne Frank.  She did great!!  She did mess up in her solo and have to improvise, but to the unseasoned dancer's eyes, it was flawless!!  She, being her own worst critic, was not happy with her solo performance at all.  The entire dance school did phenomenal as a whole.  And let me tell you-- these other dance schools better watch out during competition season-- these Junior Competitors seem to be FABULOUS this year!!!!

Sunday the 7th-- First let me say HAPPY 36TH BIRTHDAY to Auntie Lisa!!  We didn't get to see her, but we did call and FaceTime to wish her a happy birthday!!
The kids and Damian met up with Uncle Chuck, Mama, PopUp, Gloria, and Angel to go get the tree.

I stayed home for a last minute get together with Brooke, who I hadn't seen since September.  And while it was a little sad not being there with the kids and Damian, I was grateful I didn't have to be outside because Sunday was quite a cold one!!!!!  I was glad though, that Damian got to go seeing as he hadn't been in over 5 years!
Brooke and Brooklynn came over and we headed to WalMart to pick up some supplies to work on "Ugly Christmas Sweaters."  By the time we got home, Damian and the kids were back and we got started on our crafts.  First Brooke and I, then Myles, Madison, and Brooklynn, and then Mayci and Charlize(who arrived a little later with Jermaine).  Such a fun time, but a really LONG night with the kids not getting to bed until closer to 1030p.

PS-- as you scroll through the following pictures, you will clearly be able to tell when Madison and Brooklynn took over the camera!! hahahahaha!!

Such a fun weekend!  I hope everyone has been able to fill their weekends up with some family fun!!

Weeks in Review 10/24/14 -11/2/2014-- Halloween Festivities

These past 2 weeks have been full of Halloween Festivities and silliness... I failed to do a blog post last week, so I am just going to combine all of the pics since they are pretty much all just kids in costume pics.. which have also already been posted on FB.

I dropped my phone last week and in the process of getting a replacement phone, so I did lose a couple of pics.. but I will include everything I still have:

My Altima came to the end of it's life 2 weeks ago, so here I am with the newest addition to our family!!

The kids seemed to have had a good Halloween.  We stopped by Grandma Virginia and Grandpa Wayne's house to see them, Lisa, Amanda and Jaida aka Snow White.  Jaida as always, was as cute as could be and didn't want to have anything to do with me. We then headed to center of town to trick or treat there.  Because we got there sort of late, Damian also took the kids to a few houses a couple of blocks away from our house while I went home to order pizza for dinner.
Mama and PopUp stopped by to see the kids.. they had taken the week "off" from babysitting and I think they missed the kids just as much as the kids missed them--- but they needed the break and I am grateful that they were comfortable enough to tell me that they just needed some time to themselves.

How did everyone else spend their last few weeks of October??  I would love to hear??
